Thomas Edison is credited with saying that his success was 10% inspiration and 90% perspiration. Considering that he tried more than 10,000 times to make the light bulb, that is probably correct for him.
While there is daily work needed to build a networking business, I think our ratio is probably the opposite than Edison's model. Inspiration is a vital and huge ingredient to our success.
My sister once asked me, "What do you mean you DO network marketing? What is there to DO?" I guess she thought that the people just appeared magically in your organization. The reality is that there are many people to contact before you find those who will enroll. And there are many contacts after they enroll if you are a true sponsor. And in our line of nutritional cleansing, there are many contacts while your new person is first cleansing.
Some people are used to having a boss who tells them what to do. It is very frustrating to them to not have every day's work laid out for them.
That's where the inspiration comes in. I think success in networking is 90% inspiration. There are so many places for your time to be spent, the best use of your time is to contemplate what tasks are a priority. Work on the top 3 every day and everything else is gravy.
How do you know the top 3? Inspiration. Take a few moments of silence to simply ask yourself, "What are the most important things to do today?"
As with anything else, no one is perfect at this. But everyone can get better and better with practice.
