One reason two-thirds of Americans are overweight

Two articles on the internet have caught my attention in the last couple of weeks. One was about a team of researchers at the University of California at LA who examined 31 weight-loss studies and found that long-term dieting doesn't keep weight off. The vast majority of people regain their lost weight.

Aren't you glad we are not involved in dieting? One of our upline partners has a business card that says, Don't Diet---Cleanse. Of course, people in our business can have the same situation if they look at our cleansing system as a quick fix and then go back to old ways. This is a lifestyle, hence the name of this site, Cleanselifestyle.blogspot.com.

Having been at this cleanse lifestyle for four years now, I can see that many, many people have dropped pounds and inches and kept them off. Sure, we may go up and down a few pounds, but over all the weight is still down. Don't you love it!

The other article I read this week was by a doctor who thought that Americans were plain stupid for drinking so much bottled water. In fact, for drinking water at all. I wish I had kept his quote but here is the essence of it. He said as long as you were getting liquid in the form of soup, soda, juice, and even beer, you didn't need water. He did make a good point that many kinds of bottled water were just tap water. So that's why I look for reverse osmosis. (Aqua Fina, Disani, and Sam's Club to name a few)

Now with medical advice like that, no wonder two-thirds of Americans are overweight. There is a sign in my gym with tips for lowering your weight. One tip is to stay hydrated. Water acts as an appetite suppresant. Many times we feel hungry simply because we need water.

What got me about the last article was how vehemently the good doctor presented his case. If you were to go to a doctor like that he would make you feel like a fool for worrying about your daily water intake.

Remember that old tape Dead Doctors Don't Lie? The point was, medical doctors have an average life span much shorter than the rest of us. Some of that is no doubt due to the fact that they are often sleep deprived. But some is surely because as a whole, they resist common sense virtues like drinking 8 glasses or more of water every day.

So go get a big glass of pure water and prop your feet up for a few minutes. Ahh, water. It does the body good!
